Access to AGORÀ requires acceptance of these Terms of Service.
AGORÀ is built for thoughtful writing, civil dialogue, sources, clarification, and logical contribution. These Terms define who may use the platform, what conduct is allowed, how moderation may work, and what rights and responsibilities apply to users.
Version: —
These Terms govern access to and use of AGORÀ, including accounts, user content, moderation, communication features, saved posts, games, cultural map features, and future extensions of the service.
1. Eligibility and minimum age
AGORÀ is intended for mature users capable of understanding the nature of a public discussion platform. You must be at least 16 years old to use AGORÀ. By accessing AGORÀ, creating an account, or accepting these Terms, you declare and confirm that you are 16 years of age or older.
AGORÀ sets this 16-year minimum globally as a platform rule, even in countries where local law may allow a lower age for certain digital services. If local law requires a higher minimum age, the higher local age requirement prevails for users in that jurisdiction.
If you are under 16, you are not permitted to use AGORÀ. If AGORÀ reasonably believes that an account is being used by a person below the minimum age, AGORÀ may restrict, suspend, or remove the account without prior notice.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By using AGORÀ, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, by the platform rules that may be displayed inside the service, and by any future lawful updates to those rules. If you do not accept these Terms, you must not use the platform.
Acceptance may be recorded technically, including by local device storage, account-linked acceptance, timestamps, or other operational records necessary to prove that the Terms were presented and accepted.
3. Purpose of the platform
AGORÀ is a platform designed for thoughtful writing, civil dialogue, cultural exchange, clarification, sources, logic, and responsible public discourse. Its features may include public posts, user profiles, saved material, games, maps, discovery tools, and future modules intended to support intellectual and social interaction.
The service is not intended for spam, coordinated manipulation, harassment, fraud, unlawful conduct, malware, abuse of infrastructure, or activities that undermine the integrity of discussion or platform operations.
4. Accounts and account security
You are responsible for your account, login credentials, connected identity methods, and all activity performed through your account. You must take reasonable steps to protect access to your profile and must not knowingly allow unauthorized persons to use it.
You must provide information that is sufficiently accurate for the service to function and must not create accounts in a way intended to deceive AGORÀ, avoid enforcement measures, or impersonate others.
- You may not sell, rent, or transfer your account without AGORÀ’s prior written authorization.
- You may not create accounts primarily to evade moderation, bans, or technical limitations.
- You are responsible for activities performed through your device or session unless you report unauthorized access promptly.
5. Display names, identity, and impersonation
You may choose a display name and profile presentation, but you must not present yourself as another person, public figure, company, institution, or organization in a misleading or deceptive way.
AGORÀ may require you to change profile details, usernames, avatars, or labels that create confusion, impersonation risk, targeted abuse, or unfair misrepresentation.
6. Acceptable use
By using AGORÀ, you agree that you will not:
- use the service in violation of applicable law;
- post or distribute malware, malicious code, phishing content, or deceptive technical material;
- interfere with servers, APIs, authentication flows, storage, moderation systems, or user safety mechanisms;
- scrape, clone, mass-harvest, or systematically extract data beyond what the service visibly allows;
- artificially manipulate ranking, visibility, metrics, reactions, or discovery systems;
- use bots, automation, or scripts in ways that create abuse, fake engagement, or denial of service;
- engage in targeted harassment, intimidation, stalking, or coordinated hostility;
- use AGORÀ primarily for spam, commercial flooding, or deceptive promotion.
7. Prohibited content
The following categories of content may be removed or restricted, and may lead to account action:
- content that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, or seriously misleading;
- credible threats, incitement to violence, glorification of severe harm, or instructions for criminal acts;
- content intended to sexually exploit minors or depict minors in unlawful or abusive ways;
- doxxing, exposure of private personal data, or publication of sensitive information without lawful basis;
- non-consensual sexual content or intimate imagery;
- content designed to harass, terrorize, or degrade identifiable users or groups;
- malware distribution, credential theft, or platform exploitation material;
- content that materially undermines platform security, moderation, or legal compliance.
8. User-generated content
You remain responsible for all content you post, save, upload, submit, or otherwise make available through AGORÀ. This includes text, profile elements, images, links, comments, metadata, and other user-supplied material.
AGORÀ does not adopt every user statement as its own and does not guarantee the truth, accuracy, legality, or quality of user-generated content. The existence of content on AGORÀ does not imply endorsement by the platform.
9. License granted to AGORÀ
To operate the service, you grant AGORÀ a non-exclusive, worldwide, revocable, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, store, adapt for technical formatting, display, distribute, and communicate your content solely to the extent necessary to operate, secure, improve, moderate, and present the service.
This license does not transfer ownership of your original content to AGORÀ. It ends within a commercially reasonable period after your content is deleted from the active service, except where retention is reasonably necessary for backups, abuse prevention, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or evidentiary preservation.
10. Moderation and enforcement
AGORÀ may monitor, review, restrict, hide, label, remove, or preserve content and accounts when reasonably necessary to:
- enforce these Terms or other platform rules;
- protect users or third parties;
- address abuse, fraud, spam, or technical misuse;
- comply with applicable law, lawful requests, or regulatory obligations;
- preserve the integrity, safety, and functionality of the platform.
Enforcement may include warnings, visibility reduction, feature limitation, content removal, temporary restrictions, account suspension, or permanent termination. AGORÀ may act with or without prior notice depending on urgency, severity, legal constraints, or abuse risk.
11. Reporting, blocks, and user controls
AGORÀ may provide user tools such as reports, blocks, filters, saved posts, and visibility settings. These tools are provided to improve user control, but they do not guarantee complete insulation from unwanted content or behavior.
Misuse of reporting systems, block systems, or moderation channels in bad faith may itself violate these Terms.
12. Privacy and data processing
AGORÀ may process account data, content data, usage logs, technical identifiers, device information, moderation records, and related operational data as necessary to provide authentication, security, functionality, analytics, abuse prevention, moderation, and platform improvements.
Where a separate Privacy Policy exists, it forms an important companion document to these Terms. Use of AGORÀ may also imply acceptance of the platform’s privacy disclosures and operational notices.
13. Availability and feature changes
AGORÀ is an evolving service. Features may be added, modified, restricted, renamed, redesigned, paused, or removed. Temporary interruptions, errors, maintenance, experiments, or regional unavailability may occur.
AGORÀ may also impose technical limits, storage limits, access controls, anti-abuse thresholds, or region-specific limitations where reasonably necessary.
14. Third-party services and links
AGORÀ may rely on or connect with third-party services for login, maps, hosting, analytics, media delivery, security, payments, or future features. Those third-party services may operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
AGORÀ is not responsible for third-party websites, external content, or third-party service outages beyond AGORÀ’s direct control.
15. Intellectual property
Except for user-generated content owned by users or third parties, AGORÀ and its interface elements, branding, visual identity, source structure, original design choices, and non-user platform materials may be protected by copyright, trademark, database, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, mirror, republish, reverse engineer, or exploit protected elements of AGORÀ beyond what applicable law allows.
16. Suspension and termination
AGORÀ may suspend or terminate access to all or part of the service where reasonably necessary to protect legality, safety, users, infrastructure, business continuity, or platform integrity.
You may also stop using AGORÀ at any time. Termination or suspension does not automatically erase all records where retention is reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, backup integrity, or evidentiary purposes.
17. Disclaimers
AGORÀ is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. AGORÀ does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, universal compatibility, permanent preservation of content, error-free operation, or that every moderation decision or user statement will be accurate.
AGORÀ does not provide professional legal, medical, financial, or safety advice merely by hosting discussion between users.
18. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AGORÀ and its operators shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, opportunities, or reputation arising from or related to your use of the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights or liability for intentional misconduct where exclusion is prohibited.
19. User responsibility and indemnity
Where permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful content, your misuse of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of third-party rights.
20. Regional and country-specific notes
AGORÀ applies a global minimum age of 16. This platform rule may be stricter than the minimum digital-consent age available in some countries. Where local law imposes stronger or additional user protections, those mandatory protections continue to apply.
- Italy. AGORÀ’s platform minimum age remains 16, even though Italian digital-consent rules may in some contexts recognize autonomous consent from age 14.
- European Union / EEA. Mandatory consumer, privacy, and platform-safety rights under EU or national law remain unaffected where they cannot be waived.
- United Kingdom. Mandatory rights under UK law remain applicable where they cannot be excluded by contract.
- United States. AGORÀ is not intended for children under 13, and the platform’s own minimum age is set higher at 16 worldwide.
- Other jurisdictions. If your local law grants you non-waivable protections or imposes stricter age or platform rules, those rules continue to apply to the extent legally required.
21. Changes to these Terms
AGORÀ may update these Terms from time to time to reflect legal, technical, business, or product changes. When appropriate, AGORÀ may require renewed acceptance before continued use of some or all of the service.
Continued use after a valid update may constitute acceptance of the updated Terms where this is permitted by applicable law.
22. Final provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect to the extent permitted by law. Failure by AGORÀ to enforce a provision immediately does not waive the right to enforce it later.
A dedicated contact channel for legal, moderation, or platform questions may be published in a later version of the service.
